TRENDS IN TECHNOLOGY: Humidity and bathroom enclosures do not always have to
equal mold and mildew! American Bath Enterprises, INC has a reasonable solution to
this ever present issue!
OUT THE GROUT: Prefabricated bath and
shower enclosures can usually be installed in less than 2 hours, look like tile,
clean with soap and water and they last!
Bathrooms offer the perfect environment for unhealthy moisture and
mildew-related issues. Inadequate ventilation, humidity, misdirected water and
just everyday use can cause problems over time. You can see the evidence of
these conditions, from unsightly dark spots in corners or jointed areas to the
non-visible and more serious forms of mold, mildew or water damage behind or
under a leaking bath tub, shower pan or enclosure system. Unfortunately, unless
the readily visible issues are addressed and resolved immediately, the situation
will continue to deteriorate and possibly cause a more serious long-term related
problem.
There are no economically “perfect” solutions or enclosure materials that
eliminate the possibility of these types of problems. Most bathtub and shower
enclosure materials presently in use have been available and used for many
years. Tile requires grouted seams, which are porous and provides a variety of
areas for mold and mildew to grow. Fiberglass will eventually yellow, become
brittle and then crack. Stone, glass or other man made solid surface products
can be expensive, require caulking, gaskets or some other form of adhesive
during installation and can be very fragile in nature. Topical resurfacing, even
with the most robust products will not last and the use of liners or overlays
will only cover a potential problem, not eliminate it.
Acrylic, a unique option, is a very tight-pored material that does not allow
mold or mildew to get a foothold and will not crack or yellow over an extended
period of time. Wayne Cardellini, the founder of American Bath Enterprises, INC and
his experienced staff, were looking for an alternate product to replace worn-out
tile and fiberglass enclosures. Wayne and his associates designed a relatively
inexpensive fiberglass product that was produced in kit form and very easy to
install, but they ran into the usual problems associated with fiberglass
enclosures. So they continued their endeavor and after extensive research,
testing & fabricating they came up with a unique acrylic product that they named
“AmeriWall™” that was very price competitive, looked like real 4” mosaic tile
and was easy to clean with a solution mixture of a mild soap and water.
American Bath Enterprises, INC has installed tens of thousands of AccessaBath Seat
over the past ten years and they have proven less susceptible to moisture
related problems than traditional tile or the many other products that are still
used in the building industry today. Available in a prefabricated kit form,
AmeriWall AccessaBath Seat is designed to fit most bath and shower wall
applications, installs in a few hours and offers a significant cost savings when
compared to tile, stone or glass, as those require a laborious cutting and
installation process. Most Hotels, Motel, Apartment and Residential owners
obviously have a limited budget for their bathroom renovation requirements and
American Bath Enterprises, INC has a reasonable alternative solution to this ever
present issue our AccessaBath Seat. Of course the most immediate and economical
way to address mold, mildew or moisture related problems at your property, is a
proper maintenance program regardless of the materials that are presently being
used. This should include regular bathroom inspections and the use of
appropriate cleaning products as required. In addition, when any water damage,
excessive mildew buildup or any other issue is noticed, proper repair or
replacement of any damaged materials should be addressed immediately. However,
should any enclosure, or fixture repair or replacement exceed your on-site
maintenance capability, then it is time to consult a licensed professional who
specializes in bath and shower repair or renovation.
Water related applications are tough to deal with, but most moisture related
problems are caused by the lack of proper maintenance or repair when a problem
occurs. Constant vigilance is certainly a good way to prevent a potential
problem, but it also frequently offers you the option to repair a problem rather
than a need for total product replacement. Your property is only as good as it
looks, would you rent or purchase a property with a water related problem or
issue in a bath or shower area?
